meh
dont like this.
-
I preferred the pac man heads
but even that was a crap video
and this is the worst song off the ep-
and i still dont understand their insistence
to record everything so it sounds like they were playing in a shed but left the microphones outside.
-
great band
period.

By proper, do you mean loud?
Because the last album was loud, just not as loud as all the overly compressed stuff that's released today.
To quote the band themselves
"If you crank it up it still goes high, but if you put it on an IPod or your headphones you’re not going to get anywhere with it. Unfortunately what we may not have anticipated is that people listen to music this way now, and not just when your out of your house, but at home too. We’re not going to apologise for it because it took us too long. "-
Fuck compression
its just crap production
no matter how loud you turn it up the drums still sound weak and the bass is threatening the foundations of your house.
And its not always possible to listen to an album ultra loud, no matter what romanicsed vision the band have of their fans.Saying that, I still think the Fall of Math is an incredible album, as is the other two. And live theyre breathtaking. They just seem to take liberties a bit.

Agree 100%
Making a record with a broad dynamic range is fine and it's less revolutionary than they seem to think (from what I heard them say in a Sandman interview)- most classical music and post-rock uses a wide variation in dynamics. I think they went for a 'lo-fi' feel that -for me- just doesn't suit their music.
However, they are absolutely sick so I'll forgive them!
