I finally got over their terrible name and had a listen (I accidentally heard Beat Control on the internets and thought it was just about the best song I'd ever heard. at that point in time), and now I'm obsessed. The new one 'O', isn't quite as instantly likable as Bottoms Of Barrels but it's getting better with each listen and I reckon it'll be the one I'll go back to furhter down the line. Dunno why they left Beat Control off it though...
I know there was a thread a few days ago, saying they were shit. Couldn't find it, but I disagree.
they're kind of rubbish
but in a really loveable way. i once explained this 'theory' to a girl at one of their gigs and she then told me she was the touring guitarist's girlfriend. smoooooth. haven't heard the new album yet, it doesn't even seem to have a UK release lined up :(
Classic!
I'm sure Shonnie wasn't impressed!!
I love them to bits and have seen them live around 40 times in various corners of the world.
The new album is a bit of a grower but there are already a few stand out tracks after hearing it for a week or so.
Beat Control isn't on there as it's different to what they normally do so didn't fit well with the other tracks.
They're back in the UK in the Winter so I imagine the album will be released here then.
Leaves me cold
I better have another listen.
At least that's
a bit of a compliment, I've stood watching Vex Red and gone about how embarassingly shit I thought they were to find out at the end that the girl speaking to my mate was the drummer's girlfriend.
I reckon I salvaged it by saying the drumming was the best bit. Maybe.
T'was I

Are Vex Red really still going though???
oh yeah
I disagree!
And no, this was aages ago, we'd gone to watch Biffy support them and stuck around to see if VR were as bad live as on record. Turns out they were worse.
Re the other thread
Tilly are miles away from twee.
They're rowdy fuckers as the likes of "Nights of the living dead", "Too excited", "Sing songs along" and "Pot kettle black" all prove.
Check this vid out for a complete lack of tweeness!!

their name
is twee. Tilly? That's what the Queen of Twee would be called.
But apart from that, not twee at all.
^^agreeeeed
I honestly believe around the time of their first couple of tours over here
they were the best band in the world, their first album would easily be in my top 10, parts of their 2nd one are as good but their new one seems pretty bad generally theyre on a decline especially live, I hope for a return to form
I went to all the dates on the last
UK tour and was all Tilly'd out by the time they came to London but their SXSW show was amazing and full of energy.
