Jason Koumas signed for West Brom when they were newly promoted in 2002, but that's it. These seem somewhat precarious grounds for stating that newly-promoted teams 'always' seem to buy him.
As far as I'm aware Andy O'Brien has never been signed by a newly-promoted club.
