Undeterred after the British public recorded an EPIC FAIL in only managing to get ‘Two Doors Down’ to 28 in the charts, Mystery Jets have announced that they’ll continue touring into the autumn.
Trot through dead leaves to the following venues:
October
20 Leeds Cockpit
21 Sheffield Leadmill
22 Norwich Waterfront
23 London Astoria
25 Glasgow King Tuts
26 Manchester Academy
27 Birmingham Glee Club
28 Portsmouth Wedgewood Rooms
Tickets are available from a number of places – DrownedinSound recommends a useful site called ‘Goggle’.
Twenty One, Mystery Jets recent album (review), has just been re-issued by Sixsevennine. It includes bonus track ‘Somewhere in my Heart’, a cover of the Aztec Camera hit.

Goggle?
Lol
fastest reissue ever?
^this.
seems a bit odd.
I can't be bothered to look in to it.
Are Sixsevennine a sub label of a Major Label.
They're just 679
given a new name. I shudder to think how much they paid some marketer to come up with that stroke of genius.
I might go to the Astoria date
Sounds good even if the news is about a week old.
No Cardiff date?
I'll probably go to London or Birmingham.
‘Somewhere in my Heart’
!
A strange choice of song to cover
because you can't really improve it.
Mystery Jets, however, have gone from being proggy semi-bores to a great pop band. Who'd have thought it?
Not me!
But then Im quite sure they are still an absolute pile of wank.
I agree with Damian,
Saw them supporting Bloc Party years ago and they bored me to tears. Both albums are brilliant, however and I'm sure live they are different proposition these days.
the cover
it is GRATE. i bought it off itunes. there's a version of them doing it acoustically in a lift on youtube.
4 doors up
2 doors down has at least climbed up the charts slightly, by 4 places to 24. Maybe it will be one of those songs that manages to hang around the charts all summer.
The singles airplay doesn't seem to have done too much to the album sales, so maybe a bit of remarketing will get the album the attention it deserves.
