Really?

What's it like? This kind of crept up on me; just saw it listed under the pre-order section on Boomkat the other day. West Coast was one of my favourite albums of last year.

Are they still throwing out those amazing 15 minute instrumentals or are they going down a more vocal path? I'm really, really excited about this.

It's a bit of a mixture

More vocal tracks but still some excellent long pieces lik 'Escape From Chinatown', 'Brown Piano' and 'Love On A Real Train' (Track down the Williams remix of that track - incredible) But then theres a really poppy vocal track called 'Impossible' which calls to mind Air France or something. Been listening to it all day in work today - so good. Better than West Coast (imho)

Awesome

Can't wait to get my hands on it - if it's better than West Coast then it'll easily be in my top 5 albums of the year.

Impossible is a Shout Out Louds track.

This leads me to speculate Yearbook 2 is a remix project and not a straightforward successor to Yearbook 1. I'm mildly disappointed by that. Confirmation supporting otherwise would be appreciated.

Yeah

Pitchfork news item has just confirmed that it's an album of remixes, although they refer to it as the follow-up to Yearbook 1.

Is this the remix album?

I think I may have to buy it sooner rather than later

Do you have Yearbook 1, by any chance?

No, a follow up to Yearbook1

Though a few of the tracks have been knocking around for some.

Yeah, I do have Yearbook 1. You want?

erm, yeah!

How do we proceed?

i'm pretty sure

yearbook 2 is a remix/rework album of sorts?

brown piano is a Mountain of One track.
impossible is a Shout Out Louds track.
etc.
etc.

This is awesome

That's all I have to say

Yeah, it's a remix record

Fucking awesome. It's gonna soundtrack my flatwarming party in a couple of weeks.

I hadn't heard of Studio before

but after checking out some of their stuff I will be sure to get this. I love the balearic sound to it all. They make that Kylie track into a Balearic anthem.
