now THIS
is news.
will it reach their heady heights? probably not.-
It really is
And we can only hope. I have more faith in this band than most others.
-
There's a track off it
up on pitchfork, if you're interested. Pretty meh imo; much like the last album, the dude's Che's got in to replace Williams et al just sound like a Don Cab tribute band with a bit of metal on the side.
-
yeah
i wasn't dead keen on the new stuff. saw them in the scala and it felt a bit like watching a covers band pepper their set with slightly sub par originals.
-
they should just give up
they were attrocious live on their last tour. how can you replace 3 guitarists with 1 and a looper? last album was poor as well. this is a new band really isnt it. he's just using the don caballero name for attention.
-
...
The original Don Cab was one guitarist and a looper, wasn't it?
-
Hope it's better than their last album.
(it won't be).
-
Well
My personal favourite record is American Don and that was just williams and ehm... So... I think you're mistaken.
The last record was gash. Che is an amazing drummer and I know he was the only original member on loads of their albums but it's still a dogshit idea. He should have just started a new band rather than traded on the name to get bigger guarantees.

NB
That was to corrupted...

-
bollocks
varnishing a fine reputation
with turds.

-
sensation
I really can't wait for this, been a long time fan for years...each album has had technically a different line up so I dont give a hoot about who's on it or not. Either way...they write great songs.
-
the one really shit thing
that relapse have done in recent times was foster the hope that don cab may be any good again. Bad relapse, bad.
-
-
i listened to the album today
some alright songs...and i don't think the vocals take anything away from it because they don't seem structured in the same way that a band with a consistent vocalist would make them...but songs like "Punkgasm" are just painful to listen to when you consider this bands holy album history.
