This year's Supersonic Festival - named Festival of the Year by our friends at Plan B - is only two weeks away.
If details of the DiS-sponsored three-dayer have previously passed you by, catch up by clicking your way to the official website here, or simply by reading the next paragraph.
Held at Birmingham's Custard Factory arts complex on July 11-13, Supersonic this year sees a host of superb acts perform over a number of stages, indoor and outdoor. Among the bands playing live: Efterklang, Battles, Harvey Milk, Earth, Rolo Tomassi, Alexander Tucker, Harmonia, Gravetemple, Fuck Buttons, Cutting Pink With Knives, Beestung Lips, Wooden Shjips, Fucked Up and many more. Numerous other attractions including talks and film screenings make the festival a must-attend event.
Weekend tickets (£65) and day tickets are available here, and from Rough Trade East in London and Swordfish and Polar Bear in Birmingham.
DiS is excited... how about you?
Anyone going to this
and in need of an extra person to share accommodation costs?
My friends have pulled out :(
If interested PM me please!
shit!
two weeks?
I really should start sorting out accommodation.
I got my Saturday ticket
Battles FTW
Hmm
I have no ticket, I really want to go... anyone else going?
no
any other weekend and i would have done :(
.
Yes ut I can't find it. :(
Mine hasn't arrived
yet. Anyone else?
mine was like that last year...
... but it eventually came about a week before the festival itself.
Ah
thanks. That's ok then.
It arrived this morning!
seems like the funky days are back again
hmmm
it is indeed a contender for festival of the year...but i believe ATP in december will kick its ass!
im not going
cos nobody wants to cunting go with me
yay
I'm quite excited about this - a festival where I might actually enjoy the music!
yay
me too!
...
I know I've left it late, but does anybody not have accommodation yet?
as I'm booking a three person room and we need the third, to cut the costs.
Its at ETAP, and it works out at 313 a night.
If anyone is interested PM me
...
ooops, that's meant to say £13 a night
not playing:
the fucking cunts, bloody fuck, I shat my pants.
they weren't real bands when I typed this but by now someone has probably given one of these names to their new band.
I'm going!
so excited.
.
I went last year and it was fantastic. The line up was way better. This year I think the line up is much weaker, just full of guitar bands I'm not intered in. Shame, as I was looking forward to going again.
..
*interested*
gah
i knew i should have got tickets for this instead of Wild in the Country. I don't particularly like house music, i love expeimental rock and metal. 'diversify jake, have a look at some other stuff. plus battles are playing anyway, it'll be fine. and you've never seen Bjork'. Plus it's like a 20 minute walk from my folks' house. And they're away at the moment.
BAH
The custard factory is a wicked venue now though, supersonic was awesome a couple of years back. Have fun folks.
