The geeky among us are getting increasingly animated about the new Batman film, The Dark Knight (looks dastardly, has no Katie Holmes, has one Michael Caine), and it comes as no surprise to hear that the movie will be dedicated to its Joker, Heath Ledger.

Before the credits roll, a message will read: "In memory of our friends Heath Ledger & Conway Wickliffe." Wickliffe was a special effects technician killed in a stunt accident.

Talking about Ledger, director Christopher Nolan says, "I needed a phenomenal actor, but he also had to be someone unafraid of taking on such an iconic role. Heath created something entirely original. It's stunning, it's captivating. It's going to blow people away."
