my experience is that while at first everything goes along fine and its not an issue, after a while the diffrences in your lifestyles start to take their toll.
for instance, you have to put up with loads of horny 20 year old blokes trying to pull her when she's out at university or whatever.
also, when you do go out with her friends just really old and its hard to fit in.
