Yeah, I'm expecting lots of Odelays, but I thought I'd try and get plenty of opinions and see.
It'll be one of the few times a mass consensus will be spot on.
That album blew my mind when it came out.

All of them, starting with mellow gold
But Odelay is Beck at his best, Sea Change is also a good album to see the darker more mellow side of Beck. All of them upto Sea Change are worth a listen, Guero and the Information are a bit more patchy but still have some good songs.
I noticed
the critics seemed mixed on his past few. So I guess the older stuff it is then. Any opinion on Modern Guilt?

While odelay is probably his best I also really liked mutations, guero and I think midnight vultures is fucking funky as fuck and just brilliant!
There is good stuff on all his records if you ask me!

Somewhere between Of Montreal and Prince. So... pretty much one of my favourite albums and great to dance to. Though I don't think Beck's to found of it.
If it makes you wanna die the get Sea Change and Mutations. If you love it get Odelay, Mellow Gold and The Information.
...but don't expect them to be as good.
Guero is worth picking up for sure.

Has anyone
mentioned One Foot In The Grave yet? I really like that album - Calvin Johnson is on it quite a bit too which sounds interesting next to Beck's voice. But as I think someone already said, there's something good on all of them. One Foot In The Grave, Odelay and Midnite Vultures are my top 3 though I reckon.
Oh but then there's Mellow Gold....

Highly overlooked and a fantastic album.
Ok, so
Midnite Vultures, Odelay, and Mutations are what I'm leaning towards.
Keep in mind I'm a poor High Schooler, so I can't just go out and blow my money on the entire discography.
odelay is overrated 90s
