bloody hell apparantly towarding to this the top 5 singles of the year were :
1. G-G-G-Gareth G-G-G-Gates - (i can't remember what its called now - u know the one Robson & Jerome covered as well)
2. Will Young - Evergreen
3. Ronan 'the nicest man ever' Keating - Tomorrow never comes
4. Darius - Colourblind
5. Atomic Kitten - Tide is high

this is so wrong the whole thing is wrong it was like lets get the nicest people in the world and put them all in a studio (where's Bin Laden when you need him?) this is whats wrong with pop today too many nice people who have no need or desire to do it if they didn't do they'd be rich anyway living off daddy's money agghhh! and don't get me started on Ant and Dec... are Gareth and Will an item yet? trust me Gareth = George Michael give it 10 years and he'll be admitting all Stepehen Getely-style however hopefully by then though he'll be washed-up in some rehab clinic standing next to H (ex-steps twat) and Robbie Williams in the queue for some medicine.

my alternative top 5 singles of the year:

1. Terrashima - Losing my grip
2. Fixit Kid - LISA C
3. Young Heart Attack
- Mouthful of love
4. The Eighties B-Line Matchbox Disater - Alex/Morning has broken
5. Mclusky - Alan is a cowboy killer

anyone care to argue with the KLINGON-KILLA?
by the way i have no associations with anything to do with Star Trek or any of its spin-offs lets just make that clear.

Re: ITV Record of the year

the record of the yr thang's a joke. has been for as long as it's been around. it's just *another* shiny pop industry backslap - as long as there's a music industry, this kinda thing will exist in some shape or form. only on a show like this would will young and gareth gates' singles be deemed better pop singles than shakira's 'whenever, wherever', which was a fucking fantastic song. i watched a bit of it and part of me felt seethingly angry that an evening of tv time had been given to this tripe - another part of me felt foolish for regarding it with anything more than the indifference it deserves. but that's the question - should we ignore it, pretend it's not happening and get on with scoping out the good stuff out there, or rant about the sycophancy and self-congratulation that saturates this kinda thing? there's pros and cons for each option...

Re: ITV Record of the year

It's so strange how you CONSTANTLY post about Terrashima (aka the band you're in!) and Fixit Kid (yer mates i'd guess!)

and it's also pretty stoopid plugging that and claiming any band who've got anywhere have to be shit.

and that you hate more than you like.

and that people who like the bands you hate are probably unaware of the ones you like and therefore won't check out the bands you recommend... which defeats the object of your spamming.

garage rock is so dead.
