Bassist needed for a band and other project. Mainly based in Chorlton Manchester. Band music is Quite stoner, warm/groove, somewhat prog, occasionally dancy and experimental. Also be open to working with other electronic music and beats on other projects.

Thanks. Respond to sirkussaigon@googlemail.com

Bit more on the type of stuff

I'm not very good at saying/naming bands, mainly because I don't know.

The band we're in (3 of us guitar, vocals, drums) is called Sirkus Saigon. www.myspace.com/sirkussaigon

On the myspace are old recordings (8 moths old). With the departure of the old bassist we're changing direction to pursue more progressive, soundtrack and groovy music. We all like Brant Bjork, Cold War kids, Battles, Marts Volta. And would like to find some middle ground with a mancunian sense to it. We also do some other projects and would like a bassist to be involved in other bits an bobs.

About the band:

I'm a Venezuelan born Manc who's lived in the UK since I was a kid, I was brought up on folk music and Salsa. Biggest influence vocally is Gustavo Cerati of Soda Stereo.

The guitarrist has been in middle indie bands in the past, he's done a little session work. In Sirkus, he plays upbeat head-nodding Zeppelin, Zappa, can be a bit twiddly and likes odd notes, he's also big on blaxploitation funk.

The drummer is a brazillian from a metal back-ground, but style of drumming is also funk and Dub (precise, not at all sloppy, likes toms). We DJ ocasionally as RicoBeat and him as his dubstep project name "Bitcollider" www.myspace.com/bitcollider.

What about your sort of bass playing? What are you into, and what sort of project are you looking for?

Hi

So, I'm a bassist from East Didsbury looking for a band. Just come out of a 'stonerish' band and would like the oportunity to jam with you guys to see how it goes. Let me know.
