Songs like Eraser are amazing but then they have shit like Keechie on the album to ruin it.

and the vinyl I have it on is really nice... not one of my favourites of the year really but still, a pretty good album nonetheless.

it's got a matte cardboard (digipack style) outer sleeve
and the inside has this 30-odd page booklet of photos and stuff. it's spectacular.

i'm in agreement
i quite liked some of the songs from their eps, like 'everybodys down' and the like, but really struggle to like anything on Nouns. I guess 'eraser' is ok. It all seems half-baked, and a bit irritating to me.

yeah, some of it is ok
but i just couldn't listen to it often. I remember there being only one song on Nouns that made me think "yeah, this is alright". Same for Times New Viking. The whole scene stinks of indier-than-thou mentality.
I thought the smell scene
was pretty down to earth I have talked to The Mae-Shi a few times and they were nothing but the most friendly band I have encountered ever. HEALTH just hung out at their gig talking to people and selling merch as did No Age. They all seem like proper nice peeps that like to make some noise and have fun.
i get it more from the fans
than the bands. the mae shi are indeed lovely lovely people.

I hadn't listend to it in weeks so when I saw this thread I deemed a reality check was in order and yup - Nouns is superb, start to finish, no weakness anywhere- one of 2008's Greats!

It took me a few listens
to 'get' it but I quite like it now. They aren't anywhere near as good as the other bands in the 'scene' though.

i don't understand No Age. Same with Health.
It's good. I like it.
I like Brain Burner and Ripped Knees and stuff like them more than some of the other songs, though.
I really like that record
Its better than Weirdo Rippers IMO.
Eraser/Miner/Teen Creeps are all fantastic songs.

i love the way it's exciting and new-sounding and the whole vibe is pretty cool. probs one of my favourite records this year, which has been a pretty average one thus far tbh.
