might make this tomorow nights film to watch, i m on a roll of good films lately..this one is good right?

I watched it again last night.
it's brilliant. Still don't really get "it", but it's a complete thrill.

Javier Bardem conveys the psychotic role with such subtlety.

A standard local-dude-gets-in-over-his-head plot. Mannered characters, overegged themes. Unsubtle. Daft. Ultimately - bland.

Quite excited about it really. In fact, I don't know what i'm doing on here...

How's it going fellah? No Country is very good, though I didn't think it deserved an Oscar. The acting was ace especially Bardem's crazy killer role, but for me the story, was lacking in certain areas...8/10

but loved There Will Be Blood.

Very similar films though, we need more in that old epic style.

when it finished it felt like i'd watched half a film

but nowhere near as good as there will be blood.

i really enjoyed it, but it seemed to lose direction towards the end, and not really know how to resolve anything without resorting to a silly shoot out or some other cliche.

i need to see it again though.

one of the few films I've seen this year when the time has in the cinema has gone by in an instant.

There's literally everything you could want from a great movie in it apart from an actual great movie. It's very confusing.

I left the cinema feeling like I'd not gained anything and really just watched a variety of ways a lot of people can get killed, most of them because one guy was an idiot.

It's fun to play with convention and do something different but you know what? Sometimes a cliché is there for a reason. You want to see something mess with the established narrative rules but still come out with a great story, then watch The Wire.

still makes no sense to me. I enjoyed it on a superficicial level, the cinematography etc, and the performances were largely brilliant, but amongst all the hype I felt I'd really missed something...

I was going to London early the next morning to stay at a friend's house from Wednesday til Monday.

Just as I was about to set off to the cinema, she sent me a message saying "You're not going to be able to stay here.". I had tickets for this huge event thing and I crapped myself, thinking I'd have nowhere to go and have to spend loads on an overpriced London hotel.

Then we got in the cinema and the 2for1 thing on my phone didn't work so I had to spend about £7 on the ticket which was a sickener.

Then I got in and was sat on the same row as this huge fat whale of a man who hated getting up. My nervousness about London made me need to pee regularly so I had to keep standing him up.

Also the sound was damaged for the first half hour of the film, so I was furious.

So when the film ended, and I realised I hadn't paid any attention to the last scene with TLJ, I felt a bit robbed.

But I need to watch it again to fully appreciate it.

I should also use this opportunity to again thank klaire for saving my life in London, and to say the other person who let me down can get SCREWD.
