If you are familiar with Girl Talk, and haven't heard this yet, then beg/borrow/steal the album, because it's even better than Night Ripper. I just had the most fun hour in ages listening to it (okay, since Efterklang on Saturday, but still... a lot of fun) - there's sooooo many classic songs incorporated into this album.
If you're not familiar with Girl Talk, it's a totally seamless DJ Mix of a lot of different genres. Anything from rap, new-wave, grunge, power-pop, synth-pop, metal, hiphop, techno, the list goes on...
Best moment for me was probably hearing "all of the beauty is waaaaasted" from Hissing Fauna in there.
So anyway. Any fans? Thoughts?
Not convinced?

Too much shit hip-hop
Not enough metal
its good fun aint it
I dont think you have to steal it mind is it still up for download and pay what ever ya like on the website?
its like a freakin jive bunny and the mix masters for hipsters on haribo and I mean that in a good way :)
It's good. It's very good.
But it's not as good as Night Ripper.
It has moments of divine brilliance that exceed the previous album in places, but overall, it's not quite as unforgettable. It's very worth getting if you loved/liked Night Ripper, all the same. 2nd best of his three albums to date, in my opinion.
Girl Talk Live - yes
Girl Talk on record - no. Yeah it's fun if you have ADHD or are really drunk but otherwise he's fucking annoying
Night Ripper
is awesome to walk to. I like to go walking for an hour or two on the cooler summer days and Girl Talk just really seems to liven it up. It's like a super-shuffle on my iPod that's had some thought put into it.

Totally this... brilliant!
Party album of the year so far
but I do wonder what Jive Bunny's up to
well I saw an advert
for a new one of his on the telly recently he is still bangin um out
nah, get dirty south dance by A-Trak
similar vibe but much better.
that may be 2007 actually....
It's gash.
I could mumble something about hip-hop music only being legitimised in the context of guitar based music but I can't be bothered.
I could equally wax lyrical about how his tracks suffer irredeemably from the total lack of dynamics inherent in only sampling 'the best bit' from popular tracks.
To quote CMG:
“Did you hear that? DID YOU?! Was that Sinead O’Connor as a beat for ‘Walk It Out’? NO WAY!!!!!”
You sound like a fun-time kinda guy
<3
When I first listened to it
and heard the Of Montreal sample for the first time it had me actually grinning. I can't think of much music that has done this to me before on a first listen.
However it is all complete novelty value and after listening to it a couple of times and knowing what was in it etc I grew slightly bored..the kind of thing that if any song was played at a club night it'd be great but not a "classic" album or anything
