Mike Skinner, aka The Streets and creator of the three-million-selling album A Grand Don’t Come for Free, has produced four one-minute samples of songs that will appear on his almost-completed fourth album on MySpace.
Skinner says that his as-yet-untitled new album will contain “no references to modern life”, in contrast to the various aspects of everyday life present on his previous albums.
On The Streets' MySpace right now: clips of 'The Escapist', 'The Way Of The Dodo', 'The Sherry End' and 'On The Flip Of A Coin'.

needs a lil' fixin'.
the songs are cringe-worthy.
You know when the geeky, unaccepted kid in your school did something dumb or embarrassing and everyone blatantly laughed and you felt kinda bad for them? I experienced that emotion for Mike Skinner when i listened through these songs
Sounds like
he's still writing songs that need to be sung rather than the stuff that filled up Original Pirate Material. I loved that first album and really liked the second, 'tis a shame.
Original Pirate Material
and the Grafiti single were excellent. Since then The Streets have been completely ignorable.
Oh god
I really liked Original Pirate Material, so I bought A Grand Don't Come For Free.... was mighty disappointed, mostly filler to keep the story going. But just looking at that yootoob vid of Blinded by the Lights - which I thought was one of the better tracks on the album - was just cringeworthy... jesus, what happened?!
