Ahead of their headline slots at this year’s Reading and Leeds festivals, Manic Street Preachers will take to the stage of the Newport Centre on Thursday August 21.
Manics, who recently received NME’s Godlike Genius Award, are sure to offer an exceptional show to their fans having not played in the intimate venue since 1997. It's also the band’s only performance in Wales this year. Tickets will be on sale tomorrow (July 18) at 9.30am, priced at £25.

£25?!
Manic Street Preachers - fleecing the fans since 1991
intimate?
the place is like a baby arena.
this reminds me of when muse played the royal albert hall this year and said in an interview that it's "nice to play in smaller venues again".
?!?!?!
'sall relative
int it?
I imagine that when your last home show was Wembley Stadium
then the Royal Albert Hall will seem quite nice and cosy.
the place is massive isn't it?
the manics played the CIA not long ago, that's a pretty small arena... newport centre is probably more than half the size of that place.
either way, knowing newport it'll probably be full of cunts.
The Second They Accepted That Award
they lost whatever grain of worth they may have had left.
Bunch of once-great-but-now-embarrassingly-desperate-to-be-down-with-kids-and-be-famous cunts.
You know the sort...
..
at the moment. live, they are the best they have ever been i think. I honestly think you could go to one of their shows not a fan and come out as a fan.
I have a friend who did just that
...she came with us for a night out and mainly to see the support, and loved the whole thing.
