I am listening and loving the latest album from Frightened Rabbit. However, I think that there are a few albums that this year will suffer from "next" album syndrome.
We Are the Physics - Are Okay At Music
Fleet Foxes - Fleet Foxes
What do you think? They struggle with their next album beacuse of the grandness of their latest?
Hopefully the Klaxons
not that I rated the first one, but if it's really bad they maybe other people will realise how shit they are, and they'll go away.
Wickerman
have you seen we are the physics? im goin to wickerman festival and there playing. are they good live?
Franz Ferdinand's next album
Has been put back to Jan '09.
I fear it will be megapoo
that's because it isn't finished yet
and if an album isn't finished by august it usually has to wait until 2009.
Fucking brilliant live.
Really good fun live. They do a lot of histronics on stage, like stopping, freezing, playing that 7 second long song from the record... :D
..
i think the fleet foxes album suffers from first album syndrome..
i doubt Lightspeed Champion will be able to pull it off again..
i'll be sure to tell Grant what you predict for his band's next album :p
It is not predictions!
Worrys mostly. Hopefully going to see them for GodisintheTV in September in the Deen. Should be great.
Are we talking just
difficult second albums, or all next albums? If so, I've got big, big fears for The Strokes next one (if it ever arrives.)
Please, please make it a good one.
Please.
Yeah, any next albums.
Like I wonder where Muse will go... either back to good shit, or further to rubbish epic stadium shite....
Incubus (given everything since Make Yourself has been)
Biffy!
.
^ ditto
Incubus have split
Mogwai.
I'm hoping not, but everything they've done so far has been amazing, so we're bound to get a disappointing record at some point.
It's just how it is.
i don't like the song that pitchfork had up,
but hoping for the rest of the album to be more enjoyable
the album
is pretty much mogwai by numbers.
if you like them, the album will tick all the right boxes..
I really like it
although it's not as heavy as I was hoping. That said, it's an hour long which is pretty welcome given that I was never sure how far they could develop their songs within more concise lengths.
Anywhoo Mogwai are in a position where I'm just happy for them to slightly tweak the formula on each album.
you've heard it already??
Yep
Review copy innit. Good stuff.
ah..
nice work.
I do like them.
If they can even get close to the amazingness that they did with "You Don't Know Jesus" again, I'll be a happy man.
GnR
Obvious but Guns N Roses.
Great Another really negative thread
Bloc Party?
Defintely Crystal Castles.
yep
WRONG
Don't get me wrong, the first one was AMAZING.
I can just see them being unable to move on/develop from it.
Amy Winehouse
It'll no doubt be about her pathetic moron husband and his incarceration
that's why they call it the BLUES
after alligator and boxer
i just cant see how the next national album wont be a disappointment. how on earth could they top them??
i thought this after alligator
but they managed it ;)
I was thinking this
there has to be some mean reversion at some point.
By making the whole thing sound like Mr November?
oasis
have to be considered in form to deliver another shit album dont they?
nah
oasis will make decent records till kingdom come, produce them to death until they sound crap, and the world will keep turning.
i can't think of anyone who will make a crap future record without going into cheap shot territory like kaisers etc etc.
rilo kiley
will continue their downward spiral...if they ever bother making another one, that is.
idlewild.
oh, and i PRAY i am wrong, but i have a horrible suspicion...arcade fire (whisper it).
bon iver
Arctic Monkeys
not that they've made any decent album yet. But I hope their third one is an epic fail so they finally expose how truly pap they are.
i really fear
for klaxons.
franz ferdinand's next one is pretty make or break. wouldn't be surprised if it was utter shit, didn't rate their second album at all
Any fly by night fad band that NME bang on about
There's just so many of them.
jo lean
and the jing jang jong.
HA
Excellent.
Bloc Party
They continue to get worse and worse with every new release. She's Hearing Voices (Phat) -> Mercury (Shat).
MGMT
Probably.
OMG I WIN
the view
^ point
the first one was shit too. unsurprisingly.
Brim full of asha
on the 45
Modest Mouse
If Marr spends much more time with the pissing cribs.
Yeah, that sounds about right.
Get mighty worried about that shit now...
Not "shit" maybe,
but I fear for Biffy's next album. Also, Muse.
Both need to rediscover their craziness.
Also,
am I the only one who really liked the 2nd Franz album?
