since the Duke of Wellington.

Why didn't they grow to Bushesque proportions, hey?

If Cormac had been better at macking and pulled a Gwen Stefani type pop/rock cutie they could have been, surely?

My friend is obsessed with them. He flew to Ireland for some reunion show they did a few years ago.

Surely Thin Lizzy came after the Duke of Wellington?

Good call, well second best after Thin Lizzy.....

actually make that third best after Tayto Crisps!

Just listening to 'On the Turn' for the first time in ages, it's incredible.

didn't you post a 'thin lizzy is hte greatest band ever' thread?

or do threads posted in the night shift stay in the night shift?

are they playing on Friday? Where did I read that?

I think they listened to Andy Cairn's advice too much on their career direction.

And they weren't shit, like Bush.

I do believe they can do a 'biffy' esq comeback though

Best Banter on Live Album EVER

"Anyone in the audience with a bit of Irish in them?"

Crowd yells

"Any girls in the audience who want a bit more Irish in them?"

Genius...

that old chestnut?!

Next time you are in a bar on St. Patty's go up to a fine lady and say "Do you have any Irish in you?"

If she say no....

"Would you like some?"

If she says yes....

"Would you like some more?"

thee Duke Of Wellington?

was Irish? Some Irish newspaper claimed ah, you know, MBV was the best Irish Rock Band ever- are you going to go against the newspaper?

Yeah, he was an Irishman.......

Anglo-Irish, but Irish nonetheless!

TBH MBV never did much for me, I prefer Sultans of Ping FC!

anglo

he wasn't 'black as bog'.

sorry.

sharpe complete series

no

That was Revelino !

surely return of the mack

connection should have been enough to put off anyone from reviving this stupid word?

TBH, it's only still in use amongst a handful

of people who were at Peter Symonds College, Winchester between 1996 and 1999.

I've never heard of them.

which of their albums should I get first?

eurgh

neither.

Give me Therapy? back in their heyday any day.

2nd one

Now that's not saying the 1st is bad

'On The Turn'

You may well have heard of their singer, Cormac Battle. I believe he's now a DJ on 2FM.

I did not know he was in a band!

I'll try and track this one down so.
Thanks!

on the turn!

the 'i don't mind if you don't speak..' bit = the 15yr old me's favorite riff and stage dive soundtrack of the 90s!

My second hand copy of On the Turn

Doesn't work past track 7. Grrr
