But Adele, Estelle, Radiohead, Laura Marling and The Last Shadow Puppets all really suck.
I have no idea why Portishead didn't get a nomination.

It would be amazing if Laura Marling wins but then she would totally ruin my plan to become the first person from my school to win the Mercury Prize.

I don't know what the prize is judged on, if it's just the music on the disc I think it should go to Burial, but I think BSP are far and away the most interesting folks on the list. Bloody good racket and the stuff they do (their manic stage shows, playing the Czech Embassy, the Natural History Museum, putting on their own festival at the highest pub in England) is terrific and refreshingly unique when compared to the loads of other bands peddling anthemic indie ROCK MUSIC.

It's not his job, he's not obliged to do that. If they are giving the award for the best British album made in the past year, then he should get it. Nothing else comes close to being as innovative and reflective as his album. If not him, then Laura Marling should get it, because she has an awesome talent.

There is no way Burial would turn up even if he wa hidden by hoodies and all that. Kode 9 his label boss will grab it for him while saying about a million times, 'I'm not Burial!' or come out lookin like that pic at the top...
