Where is the main entrance to field day? What is the best (district line) station to go to?
Also I have a spare ticket-open to offers, PM me if interested.
I live there, and near Victoria Park, and Mile End is closer than Bow Road. Then just follow the hoards of people. It's on the left hand side of the park.
hoards of people last year form the tube - certainly not for the start of the event!
easiest way to get there is go to Mile End tube station, turn left out the station, about 50-100 yards down you reach a crossroad, turn right (crossing the road) onto Bow Road. Walk straight down Bow Road for about 10 minutes until you reach Victoria Park (this should be obvious when you get there). Once in the park turn right and continue for walk for a couple of minutes until you reach the arena site.
That's the one that goes straight down to Vicky Park. It runs adjacent to the North End of Mile End Park, then goes over Roman Road, past Bow Wharf, and then voila, Vicky Park.
I have seen LSF once and efterklang twice. So I think I'll see LSF, but if the sound's shite on the main stage like last year I'll trot off to Efterklang.
If you haven't seen efterklang yet I highly, highly recommend it
Him, yeah. He's a bizarre choice for that stage being mostly a sort of minimal techno made with snatches of, I dunno, more accessible music I guess (DiS review said 'pop samples' but I think that's a bit of a stretch - although, of course, I guess 'accessible music' could equal pop).
It's very loop oriented, very few variations over the course of songs but very pretty nonetheless. Not an indie act at all but I guess some of the textures are a little similar? He's the crossover child of minimal.
If I'm even using the word Minimal remotely accurately here.
Be interesting to see if he does have a band. Glad he doesn't clash with Lightspeed any more, dunno how easy it would've been to convince my friend to go looksee.
he/they were really good. Although the guitarist looked really uncomfortable onstage. If you feel a bit monged by then, definitely go see him, but if not, Richie Hawtin will do the trick.
i could cope with all of the changes, apart from efterklang finishing at 8.10 with the notwist starting at 8pm. Probably not a big deal, but they were the two bands i really wanted to see the most, and now i'm going to have to miss part of one/both. and i've no idea what i'm going to do/choose.
which would you choose considering I've not really listened to either that much?
efterklang on first impression seems very chilled and LSF a big bang band, apologies for my vague crap description of first impression but i have been serving ice cream to brats from my van all day and can't be arsed to articulate
I don't know Efterklang, but Les Savy Fav are one of those bands that you have to see live; I've seen them three times and The Notwist once, and I doubt I'll be able to drag myself away from LSF even though I'll miss the beginning of The Notwist.
I don't even know/like the chap, but that's going to throw another spanner in the works of me seeing Notwist and Efterklang! Oh it's going to be stressful.
bow road
not sure about the entrace, on the south side somehere i think. somoone will know
Get off at Mile End (Central, District, Hammersmith & City)
I live there, and near Victoria Park, and Mile End is closer than Bow Road. Then just follow the hoards of people. It's on the left hand side of the park.
I also have a spare ticket.
PM me with an offer if you like.
GONE!
it totally isnt!
actually it totally is. my bad
there weren't

You mean Grove Road, right?
That's the one that goes straight down to Vicky Park. It runs adjacent to the North End of Mile End Park, then goes over Roman Road, past Bow Wharf, and then voila, Vicky Park.
yes, my bad
i meant grove road instead of bow road.
Sorry, I'm coming across like a right pedant correcting everyone.
I'm not really.
Nimby
Ha. You've got your "pah, tourists" hat on. Bless your socks.

anyone know
whats going on with the mystery jets situation - are they gonna bump a band across to the main stage or anything?
Does anyone know
if there's any dense woodland bits away from the beaten track on site? I need to do a shoot - nothing sinister...
Not really, to be honest.
All the woodland is a little sparse. At least within the site enclosure.
Oh shit.
Well wish me luck! :D
Good luck!
;)
here's some screengrabs
of the the final line up (soz, I can't host the actual spreadsheet anywhere)
Jeffery Lewis and Of Montreal now clash :(

Efterklang or LSF?
Gah!
modeselektor or tunng!
damn - i had no clashes before the pull out
you think they'd just replace MJ
to avoid fucking up the entire line up and revering printed programs useless.
But this is Field Day we're talking about. Of course they can't do it properly.
RENDERING
that is
Anyone have a spare ticket for Field Day they can sell?!
Am desperately looking for a ticket, let me know if you have one!
thanks!
ffs
They've moved Efterklang, i really can't stand lightspeed champion - so Brodinski it is.
why the fuck did they move efterklang???
this now makes the lineups i just printed useless... oh well, thanks for posting the new one. jeez.
so this is definitely correct???
anyone got a true programme so to speak?
LSF or Efterklang!?
I've already seen LSF this year, yet to see Efterklang, and think I'll regret it if I don't. But LSF are so much fun to watch... ARGH!
Jeff Lewis is playing EotR...
So at least I can watch of Montreal and not feel annoyed about missing him.
Quite honestly
I have seen LSF once and efterklang twice. So I think I'll see LSF, but if the sound's shite on the main stage like last year I'll trot off to Efterklang.
If you haven't seen efterklang yet I highly, highly recommend it
i was thinking there weren't many clashes but with the newly changed times i may cry...
emma pollock vs. wild beasts
jeffrey lewis vs. of montreal
efterklang vs. les savy fav
:( boo
shit shit shit
jeff lewis vs of montreal is v. bad
I think I will go with your high recommendation Caliban, and opt for the Danes.
This is making
my highlighters run down.
Anyone else
really, really looking forward to seeing The Field?
I hear he has a band now
so curious to hear about what it's like, he's the only thing I'm really gutted about missing out on.
I've not even bothered to check them out.
Usually I hate it when people ask this, but, what are they like? I would have a gander on MySpace, but can't access it easily at work.
That shows my ignorance.
So it's a him? I'll get my coat...
Know Now

I saw the Field
at Sonar and thought they was pretty dreadful. I like the album and EP, but they were so so dull - a huge disappointment.
At ATP
he/they were really good. Although the guitarist looked really uncomfortable onstage. If you feel a bit monged by then, definitely go see him, but if not, Richie Hawtin will do the trick.
Could someone post the times on here
I can't download stuff off image hosting sites at work...thanks!
Hostess
Any particular ones? There are quite a few, see.
This any better?

Thanks for that!
That Les Savy Fav/Efterklang clash is an utter bastard (I'm gonna opt for the latter), but at least I get to see all the Mae Shi's set now.
It doesn't seem to have been documented
but Primary 1 pulled out last week, Cock 'n' Bull kid is replacing.
that's not good
Whurrt
Sure it is, Cock 'n' Bull Kid's a doll.
_
Actually I do quite like her
But I'll be at Jeff Lewis or Crookers depending on my mood anyway so it doesn't really matter
..
really are you sure?
im meant to be going to his afterparty and was only asked yesterday..
but cock n bull are def on there.
anyone got definitive line up?
grrr
i could cope with all of the changes, apart from efterklang finishing at 8.10 with the notwist starting at 8pm. Probably not a big deal, but they were the two bands i really wanted to see the most, and now i'm going to have to miss part of one/both. and i've no idea what i'm going to do/choose.
buggers.
fucking rain. its gonna be a wet one thats for sure
for a first timer seeing LSF or Efterklang
which would you choose considering I've not really listened to either that much?
efterklang on first impression seems very chilled and LSF a big bang band, apologies for my vague crap description of first impression but i have been serving ice cream to brats from my van all day and can't be arsed to articulate
LSF
I love Efterklang
but Les Savy Fav all the way!
Les Savy Fav!
I don't know Efterklang, but Les Savy Fav are one of those bands that you have to see live; I've seen them three times and The Notwist once, and I doubt I'll be able to drag myself away from LSF even though I'll miss the beginning of The Notwist.

dan deacon...
...has pulled out now as well, apparently :(

I don't even know/like the chap, but that's going to throw another spanner in the works of me seeing Notwist and Efterklang! Oh it's going to be stressful.
I just heard this.
Apparently he,s had his passport stolen. Gutted.
