Know there's a VERY good chance he'll get dismissed on here as retro/nostalgia/winehouse-core (or something similar) but i just can't get enough of that fucking balls out of the bath 'Stax'y sound, no matter how much of an 'impersonation' it may be.

i love eli 'paperboy' reed
i much prefer his music to the amy winehouses and duffys of the world.
allston, massachusetts represent! :)
YOU
are dead good.
I watched his set at 229 a couple of weeks back
I only went at the very last minute as I wanted to see Sparkadia too but it ended up being one of my favourite gigs of the year.
Eli and his band were on great form but I imagine I enjoyed so much as I was only inches away from their performance.
You can check out a few pictures here...

I saw him play with Seasick Steve at Latitude....
very impressive and worth several thousand members of 'The Foals' in my opinion.
He's great
More retro soul? Yes please.
Saw him and his band The True Loves @ Latitude
as part of the Mark Lamarr club night; they were on before Buzzcocks.
He was fucking wicked, and has a great voice. The band were also really tight.
He does, however, look like suspiciously like a young Dan Aykroyd.
