Reading nearly sold out!

Two months before the Carling Weekend is even due to take place, it appears that weekend tickets for Reading are close to selling out.

Less than a month after the festival organisers began to announce this year's lineup, which has been hailed as a particularly strong one, featuring Foo Fighters, The Prodigy, The Offspring, The Strokes, Muse and Pulp, ticket agents wayahead.com and ticketweb.com have run out of weekend tickets, before the full lineup has even been announced yet; more acts are set to be announced tomorrow.

It seems that bigmouth.co.uk and stargreen.co.uk still have tickets, though it seems likely that they may follow suit and run out of tickets pretty soon; meanwhile tickets are still available at most ticket agencies for the Leeds dates. If you know of any other sites still selling weekend tickets for Reading, please post on the DiS boards and let everyone know!

Editors note: bigmouth.co.uk seem to have sold out of weekend tickets at this point too, all day tickets are available, but don't include camping rights (so get a weekend ticket kid to carry your tent past the gate)

Reading sold out!

i think its totally sold out now, weekend tickets anyway. i cant find them anywhere on the internet.

Re: Reading sold out!

I couldn't either. I got the last one from picadilly box office. But quite a few HMV's still have them. Def. oxford, bath and nottingham.

Re: Reading sold out!

apparently the dudley merry hill has shitloads. so says the phone answering man. and people are paying £150+ on ebay.

I wonder if it is wrong to take advantage of such idiots?

Re: Reading sold out!

nah, they're just people who probably don't know what a search engine is. HMV Manchester has about 70 left but you have to pay in person.

Re: Reading sold out!

HMV manc told me they weren't selling them at all...

Re: Reading sold out!

They do- that's what they said to me today but the guy asked someone else and they do sell them - behind the main counter.

Re: Reading sold out!

Heehee i live too far away to have got them from there anyways...

HMV do sell Reading tix!

HMV does sell tickets for Reading and Leeds festivals. Some people have been having problems because some stores don't usually sell concert tickets, but they are making an exception with Reading & Leeds. Even some members of staff don't even know they sell them, as I found out today when I bought mine at Manchester HMV - but they DO sell them - if anyone says they don't, they're behind the counter at £95 each. The guy said they've got about 70-100 left! But you have to pay and collect them in person.

Re: HMV do sell Reading tix!

If you go to the Mean fiddler website then they'll give you a number to find out if they're in your local store.
If anyone is from maidstone they had some this morning but reportedly had 100 people phone up about them already.
I think the extra £5 is a con though!

Re: HMV do sell Reading tix!

I reckon they should make it so that you can order your reading tickets for the following year when you buy you're ticket - then they could reserve tickets for reading veterans... maybe this is a bit unfair, but I don't care ;) perhaps they could give people with these reserved tickets a few weeks after the release date to pay up, then offer them to everyone else. Anyway it doesn't matter now :(. I'll try HMV tomorrow, they had them in Canterbury last year and the year before definately.
