Now we all love to have a moan about djs being totally charmless and totaly surplus to requiement as human beings but I have to announce that this man surely is the man who shames the very notion of the word dj by just leaving the house in the morning - have you heard his show? Apart from feeling immediately under the influence of a spiked drink once you hear his droning voice and hackneyed 'you the listener' platitudes he plays the most conservative middle of the road indie/rock/pop known to man. Next to him daytime xfm is like listening to Stockhausen. In a wind tunnel. On drugs. After a night out with Musique Concrete.
In these dangerous times (music wise) and with so many forms of media to make a difference why do we have people who think that its ok for an alternative radio station to play the Foo Fighters and Snow Patrol (a live version of Run - why?) constantly on a tape loop when commercially run stations do that as par of the course. If I said he played a Buzzcocks song last night I bet you can guess within a nanosecond which one it was. Prick.

That's as good as a certificate of authenticity that is.
I've got a highlighter pen here that I think may have been owned by Lemmy once.
Re: Tom Robinson
Who the fuck is he?
What radio station is he on?
And when?

And why are you listening to him, then?

Re: Tom Robinson
As a BBC station you'd think they'd be more 'radical' and daring - apart from Stuart Maconie most of the shows are similar to the above play list with varying levels of tawdriness between the djs (Liz Kershaw surely has to be played by a satirist these days)
I just think its a waste of a good bbc service that is slowly going downhill and I wanted to use Robinson as an example
Re: Tom Robinson
Re: Tom Robinson
Actually Jarvis Cocker stood in for him once and I have to say he not only played some ace songs but gave a case for himself as being prob the best dj we have never had.
Its funny no one knows who Tom Robinson is - that sort of sums it all up really

He is on 6 music - a so called alternative to the incoherent ramblings of xfm and radio 1 and he does the Evening Session on there and you'd think he'd take up the gauntlet by playing something abbit mroe daring than playlist-olia and 'selected' predictable oldies - he also had a chart career spanning, ooh 6 months
