Simple one this:
Where should I start?
I'd prefer an album to a 'Best Of'...

Re: The Byrds
you can't really go wrong with the first three:
Mr Tambourine Man
Turn! Turn! Turn!
Fifth Dimension
plus
Sweetheart of the Rodeo
my personal fave is either turn or fifth, but then thats cos any album with eight miles high on it has to be amazing.
Re: The Byrds
I like 'The Notorious Bird Brothers'
Re: The Byrds
or rather Byrd Brothers
Re: The Byrds
I'd say start with Mr Tambourine Man. That's where I started and it was good enough to get me to buy all the others mentioned. You should also get Ballad Of Easy Rider even just for Wasn't Born To Follow which is great.
Re: The Byrds
Get a best of and even half of thats going to be tosh. Unless your looking for country and western, avoid the later stuff and look at '65-'67.
Re: The Byrds
i heard the original version of Eight Miles High today and i liked it almost as much as the husker du version.
also: was covering dylan, like, their
thing
?
Re: The Byrds
The stuff with Gram Parsons basically...
Namely Sweetheart of The Rodeo.
