Shed 7

Does noone else think that the mystery jets just sound a bit like Shed7...I've only heard "You cant fool me Dennis" mind. And along the same lines, Brandon Killers sounds like Rick Witter. And if I had the balls to mention that I quite liked "On Standby" Id probably get lynch mobbed..

      I love Shed Seven. But I don't think they sound like Mystery Jets. At all.

                        I don't see the resemblance but then I've only really listened to Zoo Time which sounds nothing like Shed Seven.

          It's not entirely that. Most of my mates, non-NME sheep to a man, think they're rubbish. I've never quite understood where the hatred comes from. They're hardly Cast...

            it's because taken at face value, they're an unglamorous and fairly unremarkable brit-boy-band, playing smithsy guitar music.

            and they're called shed 7.

            but if that sort of thing doesn't bother you, they still had some pretty ace tunes. their 'greatest hits' album was a lot better than maybe it should've been... and the people who were into them were REALLY into them... see also: gene.

              Yeah, it's a fairly rubbish name, but then so is Radiohead, I've always thought.

              Gene do have that special group of fans, though it seems to me that everyone loves one of their first singles off the first album and have been hoping they'll equal it ever since.

              I saw Shed 7 on their tour supporting the Best Of and it was a great gig too. Disco Down is a great song...

      well kind of.....they're playing up by my bit but i'm on me hols at the time....he's got a new band but half the set will be shed 7 material..............hey they didn't change the world butthey had a lot of good songs and i thought they were good live. his stage patter is spot on too.
      god i really am caught in a musical timewarp- i was getting dogs abuse for that the other night.

    not sure about mystery jets but think that morning runner deffo have a bit of shed 7 about them! Its its 'cool' to slag off shed 7 but they did some good tunes
