What is the sound like at Birmingham Carling Academy?

I'm trying to weight up the pros and cons or dragging my arse up to Brum from London to go and see Sigur Ros?

Ive got so many gigs booked and no money left. I can just about scrape the funds if I sell my body on ebay for a couple of quid. Are they THAT good live?

Re: Sigur Ros - worth the trip?

Sigur Ros are playing in London in November I'm sure of it. Why not wait until then?! B'ham's quite intimate and dark for gigs though. And it's not that far from London. Do it.

Re: Sigur Ros - worth the trip?

mmm but they are playing at Brixton Academy and I have always the sound in there to be appauling.

Have you seen them live before?

Re: Sigur Ros - worth the trip?

No but I'm taking my chances and going to Brixton. You should do the same :) If there are still tickets. I wasn't sure about seeing sigur ros live. I only enjoy them when i'm stoned in bed playing them through my earphones. It's more intimate.

Re: Sigur Ros - worth the trip?

do it

imagine if its the best gig you ever saw
youll never forget it

if its just average youll get over it

i know which is more worth the risk
like when i went to liverpool to see blood brothers with 20 other people in the room
