As always happens bands are being added to the bill late and others are being taken off...

We're happy to be able to let you know that SPAN, Amen, The Polyphonic Spree, [SPUNGE] and The Rapture. And rumour has it Queens of the Stoneage will be joining the Foo Fighters onstage to do an impromtu set - if it is true, how much would that rock?

Sadly, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Alkaline Trio, Fu Manchu and The Promise Ring (unconfirmed) are off the bill.

Here's hoping for good ol' english summer to holdout. Don't forget, we have a competition to win tickets for the weekend here. And that we have JETPLANE LANDING warming up for the weekend @ the Windmill, in Brixton, next Wednesday. News about that and anything else we hear, plus a full weekend preview guide will be up as soon as...

QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE??

sean adams where did u hear that queens of the stone age are to play at reading?
is it gonnabe a full set or just a couple of songs, i was'nt going to go, but if they're going i definatley will. do u reckon it'll be announced or just kept secret?

the lost art of...

i've only heard it mumbled around. think it's just the logic of the lp being out on the monday. dont think they can be announced cus they played glasto and their's some embargo on bands doing both mainstages or summat.

i really hope they do play. the album sampler is ace!

But the rest of the Foo Fighters aren't at all fond of QOTSA, or Mr. Grohl's involvement with that band. So I doubt very much it'll happen.

Still, it would be good fun if it did.

my guess is if its a rumour itll stay that way. nine inch nails were rumoured to turn up with marilyn manson last year but that never happened.

Davey Grohl is in QOTSA so it's not as if they'll need to get many more people on stage is it? he'll jump on teh drums like a big monkey and draft in an extra singer and bass player, presto QOTSA

SPAN

span are so friggin good... you'd like 'em col', they're a bit like weezer, kinda, sorta, bit more punky, bit less noisy, bit more straight-on-the-nose, sweaty, pulsating, rock, innit.

can't wait to see them again!

Span are the best new band around, bar none. Let's hope they get some decent promotion. A tour supporting Vendetta Rec is hardly the sort of profile they deserve. Come on Universal/Island. Get your act together. These guys could be huge. The material is fantastic.

I agree! And I promise you, they do not only make great music, they are very friendly and nice people too. I am proud to be a norwegian!

PS: Did you know that Joff has been a celebrity in Norway for many years? He is the meatboy in the breaks at tv! He has also hosted a tv-program named "Sone 2".
