i got paid on monday. after tax, about £960 was sitting in my bank account just waiting for me to show it a good time in various shops, cinemas, and drinking establishments. but first came rent. coucil tax. internet bill, cable, mobile. paying off overdraft, food, savings, and the wedding fund.
after a few indulgences (and i do mean a few - 3 CDs and a chinese to be precise), i now have £60 to last the rest of the month. extravagance has be put to the backburner for a while i think.
on the plus side, i finally bought some elliot smith, which i've been meaning to do for a while. not what i was expecting, but still very cool. i could of sworn some bits sounded like the beatles when they weren't bouncing around off their tits on drugs (and more like they sounded coming down, to be honest).
my tickets for the reading festival have also arrived, which has made me relax considerably. since i booked them about six months ago and they only just took the money last week, for a while i thought there was going to be an almighty cockup and i wouldn't get to go to my own stag do. now i'm just worrying about where they're going to find a stripper in the middle of a muddy field, and how i'll sleep with one eye open.
anyone care to recommend a cave in CD? the DiS you'll-like-this-band-o-meter says i should check them out most, but i was under the impression they change style as often as most people change their favourite big brother housemate. and due to the previously discussed cashflow/trickle situation, i'd rather not pick a turkey. come on, speak up. who actually reads this drivel?
