All this song does is whine whine whine

Look, I'm not going to mass generalise bands of this ilk, hell, I like most of them. Well some of them, anyway.

But Saves The Day are guilty of two of the most tepid, whining songs of the last few months. Previous single, 'At Your Funeral' failed to maintain any attractiveness as the result of constant radio and video rotation, and 'Freakish' doesn't even have an initial whiff of likeableness. A slow, lamenting dirge of an emo tune, it's like listening to a man in the throws of legionnaires disease having knives sunken into him.

The albums much better, and I can only assume that they didn't choose this single. B-Sides 'Firefly' and an in-session version of 'Certain Tragedy' are way superior. But not brilliant.
