although I'm sure other crap will end up leaking in here too.

Anyway gigs in the last two weeks:
Sufjan in London (17/10) - excellent and lots of fun

Wrens in London (26/10) - brilliant. I've said enough about this one already but I had been waiting so long for this and it exceeded every expectation.

Audioscope Festival in Oxford (29/10) - we saw the last three bands. Data Panik were ok, a bit Kaiser Chiefs-ish. Explosions In The Sky were monumental, they are truly a band that needs to be heard live to be fully appreciated. Forgive the awful expression but they really created sonic skyscrapers. The moment when they were all thrashing their instruments in perfect synchronicity was awesome. The headliners were Four Tet, it was my first exposure to them and I found some of his stuff interesting and some of it a bit monotonous. Anyway Explosions alone were more than worth it and it was a fun evening :)

Recent-ish CD purchases:

Broken Social Scene - self-titled - good, not sure it's up to You Forgot It In People standards though

Mercury Rev - Boces - noisy brilliance!

The Paper Chase - God Bless Your Black Heart - more noisy brilliance! These guys are criminally ignored.

65daysofstatic - One Time For All Time - excellent towering post-rock stuff

Jimmy Eat World - Static Prevails - one of my favourite bands but I'd never heard this (their first proper album) until now. It's good, very good in places, and shows the potential they have been fulfilling the last six years.

Patrick Wolf - Wind In The Wires has been ordered, really looking forward to getting this one!

More stuff in a couple of weeks maybe.
