Addict frontman Jet Wintzer is quoted as saying "We will be playing our last show this year at NYC's Death Disco on Wednesday 9th November. This will be our last performance until next year when we play with the Stone Roses. I have been authorized by Reni to announce the third coming, at which Schizo Fun Addict will be supporting."
Rumours of a reformation have circulated for some time - Ian Brown has played Stone Roses songs at recent live shows, and John Squire told Time Out that a reformation was a possibility being considered back in May 2005. He was reported to have even sent Brown a box of chocolates with a note saying "I still love you." Whispers of a Glastonbury collaboration (Mani's Primal Scream were booked on the same day as Brown) to replace Kylie Minogue fanned the flames further, but nothing materialised. This news, though, would appear to be a significant step towards the truth: The Stone Roses are very likely to be touring again.
If it does prove to be true, I guess floppy hats and flared trousers will be on everyone's shopping list this Christmas.
Squire?
The only one that wasn't mentioned was the man himself Jonhnny boy. Do you really think the miserable old git would agree to it?
Nah
Ian Brown said he has absolutely no need to do this, and that John Squire only wants to because he does. And I've never heard of that band - I would say it's a publicity stunt on their part.
It could be fairly teethgrinding if they did, mind, unless Ian Brown relented and took some singing lessons...
Spike island 2006?
Spike Island 'the second coming' is booked for may bank holiday weekend 2006...
from virtual festivals....
Second Coming
It will have been 16 years to the day that the Stone Roses changed the landscape of British music at their legendary Spike Island gig. Set to makes a return from what was celebrated as one of the finest musical moments of the 90s, a whole new round of bands from the new century will re-write history to one of the biggest festival crowds of the season.
Day one is a free family day with bands from all over the North West including other entertainment and attractions. Day two, known as 'Halton Rocks' will be dedicated to modern and retro rock bands with the final day, 'Halton Pops' suited to more commerical music tastes.

Spike Island
There is going to be a Spike Island event, but I'm 99.9% sure it won't feature the Roses. Would probably feature most of the members in one capacity or another, at a guess...
Or it could just be...
or it could just be a little known yank band getting themselves some uk press covergae with a well placed spoof story....
call me a cynic....
As I...
...already said above.
But the bit about a Spike Island event does appear to be true. Just don't expect it to star the Roses.
Also,
Mani said on Saturday morning on Soccer AM that the Roses would reform when Man City win the European Cup. (Note to non-football fans: this is not going to happen).
Ian Brown's slated John Squire many times as well, and said that Squire wants to reform them but he doesn't.
Well...
Brown's a much better live singer now than he ever was in the old days, but he's doing fine as a solo act (and Squire is such a prize tit that I imagine he'd take a bit of persuading to play with him again). They'll probably reform as and when they think they need the money, like everyone else.
And Squire sent the chocolates when Brown was in prison in 1998, so I don't think that proves anything.
still
i didn't think ian brown was great at glastonbury. he looked like jimmy saville but with less grey and was slower than he should've been.
maybe it was just his backing band or that i had back ache...
he's
also just released a greatest hits, so would be an obvious place to take a break from solo stuff...
Well
Yeah, but he's just signed a new two album solo deal
the truth is out there
Schizo Fun Addict are led by a guy called Lee D'Onofrio, who also calls himself Burnweed, and has emerged in a couple of other musical guises with one thing in common. He is completely obsessed with The Stone Roses. He wrote a long story you could perhaps find on the internet called OneLoveStory and its basically an account of an egotistical young man having a bit of a breakdown whilst reading spiritual signs from the music of The Stone Roses.
I don't believe their claims, and I think he's made similar ones before. Funny if it was true though.

this guy is quite literally mental.
lee donofrio
I met Lee in law school 20 years ago. We became friends because of our musical interests. I haven't seen him in 15 years. I can assure you that his song/story One Love Story is based strongly in reality. He had a rough time in law school, he was dating some undergrad, and she broke it off. Lee lost his mind, and was completely obsessed with her. She reported him to school authorities because he may have been stalking her. It was suggested that he transfer schools. I'm no psychiatrist but it had bipolar/obsessive/ manic depressive written all over it. The Lee I knew definately struggled with that, so if there's some song out there which is about what you say it is-- believe me, it's not made up.
destructively speaking
ALL EXPERTS> you can't normalize this situation, it keeps everyone's minds turning...it is strange..& fun....a good artist can take something as simple as a band & make it a sensation, but a great artist can raise it to a phenomenon....this is a fantastic collaborative work of art....culturally, it's sad some can't respect it for only being just that...but after all, this is targeting only other fans (that don't see this being eye to eye with their own little obsession) & consumers, not other objective thinkers, or the art world at large.....we should all thank jet for breathing a bit of psychedelic life back into rocknroll.....at that point, it's not so much about whether you believe it to be true, but the imagination & creativity of it....& it doesn't surprise me at all that the stone roses acknowledge this, since they've manifested a quite bizarre relationship with jet without any criticism to the contrary over the years, mind you.....(show me otherwise?)....ian brown's appearance at the schizo show at don hill's tiswas nyc in february was no coincidence...i experienced that....you may also want to research & find out about jet's scripts (which have nothing to do with onelovestory or the stone roses), & recently have the eyes & ears of major movie companies....he is one of many artists.....fair is fair.

if they reformed it would in ian browns eyes nullify his solo work, and while most of it deserves it, inside his hippie stoned head the idea probably sounds sacreligous
