Having been mightily impressed by Vendetta Red’s crazy and very destructive performance at Reading festival I was particularly chuffed to see this single exposing these perky yanks on a Virgin listening post last week.

Slip it on and first track ‘Three Chord Valentine’ is immediately recognisable from their set at Reading, those guitar hooks slicing through a vocal line that brings to mind elements of Honeycrack. Closer inspection of the four tracks on offer here sees vocalist Zach adopting the fervidly passionate approach of The Used but all the time backed by that abrasively chirpy bounce.

Obviously being American gives Vendetta Red a head start above our home-grown hopefuls but this EP also shows Vendetta’s knack for writing the kind of pop-punk melodies that will latch onto you and draw you in whether you like it or not.

Vendetta Red - Cut Your Noose

I wouldn't categorize VR's music as pop whatsoever. In my opinion they are more emo rock than anything else. Buy their c.d.and I promise you will be hooked the first time you listen to it. Their lyrics are deep and lead singer Zach Davidson has great talent. They are my favorite band and I would encourage everyone to go out and see them live. They put on the best show ever. They get real crazy and you'll either see them hanging from poles, jumping off of amps, or smashing their stuff.
