Greetings my fellow DiS-aholics. The good news is that my daddy is now a DiS-aholic. The better news is that, aided by Derbyshire sex kitten, Kate Price, I have devised a new feature to keep you crazy guys happy cos you’ll have something new to complain about.

What is your favourite cheese and why?

We have imaginatively titled this feature “7 Questions” and the ‘concept’ behind it is that we just get loads of bands to answer the same set of questions and then we put it up on the site and loads of you read it. They should be identifiable as a feature and so you will be able to grow to love it with ease. That’s the theory anyway.

Who’d win the fight: The Grateful Dead OR The Undead with burning spears?

We’re bringing you 7 Questions from bands we love like Crackout, Eva, I Own Kings, Stapleton, S.Rock Levinson, Kids Near Water & Miss Black America just for starters. You have no idea as to the lengths we will go to for these interviews. We will struggle through wind, rain and fire…but only if we are in danger of dying. We probably just ask em really politely and give them sweets in the vain hope that they won't hate us. But I digress.

So, yeah, prepare yourselves for 7 Questions. There will be 7 Answers just underneath. It's coming soon (the 1st one is already up, and now the 2nd one is up as well). It’s genius. Promise.

7 Questions

But surely the cheese question - aside from being a hackneyed staple of wank fanzine interviews - is already in the process of being done to death every time a band appears on MTV2's Gonzo.

I understand it's meant to be a bit of fun, but you could make sure you use questions bands can give genuinely fun answers to. And questions which other people aren't already using.

Re: 7 Questions

well can you think of any?

Re: 7 Questions

Paul Morley always used issue the poser: "why do you bother?", which I think is a brilliant question to ask bands. It's asking, 'justify your existence', and then seeing if they can.

Re: 7 Questions

Is it coincidence that this exact example was brought up and discussed only a matter of days ago over on I Love Music? Or just my suspicious mind?

Also, re: earlier in the thread - "Wank fanzine questions" - heh heh, that's what I thought it was staying dangerously close to as well.

Re: 7 Questions

So dangerously close that...that's what it's meant to do.
Get it?
It's an alternative interview to the 2000+ word features. Nice & easy. Don't think about it so much.
Just gives a bit of a character reference is all.
Get it now?
Thought not.

Re: 7 Questions

how about we give a prize to the person who comes up with the most original question??

the winner gets my signed ian van dahl album!
