Artists: OK Go
Fans of pop-rockin' riffs rejoice! OK Go, known for their deep lyrics and inspired compositions*, are returning to the UK in 2006 with a new album under their skinny arms and a single to plug.

'A Million Ways', the single in question, hits shops in Blighty on 20th February. The band take the time to visit the following gig-friendly locales in January; if you're really lucky they might even play the 'hit'. You know the one, right? Good, because I've forgotten what it's called...

January
9 London Islington Academy
10 London Metro
11 London Brixton Windmill
13 Birmingham Academy II
14 Newcastle Academy II
15 Glasgow King Tuts
16 Manchester Night & Day
18 Leeds Joseph's Well
19 Bristol Fleece & Firkin

The album, Oh No, is scheduled for a March 6th release.

*Like, lie and stuff.

Ohh, they're playing the fleece

surely only covers bands play at the fleece?!

that is so true

about the Fleece since about 99 as they were almost forcedto close and artistry was compromised

anyway they sound like they're a made up band

prole_art_threat...

...are you a Bristol person then? I live five minutes' walk from the Fleece. Come to this gig, I'll buy you a drink and tell you why you're wrong about lots of stuff... :-)

Although you're right about the Fleece. So rare that something I like appears there now.

THe new stuff...

Sounds horrible.

They just sound like Hot Hot Heat now.

They were fun before, but no theyre not.

:(

but..

have you seen that video? with them doing choreographed dancing? it's pretty great, and i didn't like them to begin with. that dance moved them up the proverbial scale of goodness. ness, ness.

i saw them..

supporting Brendan Benson, they did that dance routine miming to the single. you'd think it would be awful, but it was actually very clever.. plus i will watch OK Go miming over actually hearing them play anytime!

Oh come on...

...that's a little uncharitable Mr D. They're a great band. And this is a great album (I got the little badger on import).

But even if you don't like them, picking out the lyrics is a bit mean... they're a fair cut above your average bands (and oh are there plenty of average bands...)

nonono

I am sorry Damian. but you are wrong on this count. they are definately not a great band. Nor are they 'a fair cut above your average bands'. They are fairly entertaining, i will give them that.
I saw them supporting brendon benson. they entertained me for a couple of songs.
That is all

Oh well.

We'll agree to disagree.

Incidentally, I'm not the Damian that fronts the band, in case anyone was wondering.

you sir, are a

liar!

If only.

But we need more Damians in rock for sure.

i love the way

you can tell it's a mike diver news story by the fact he always manages to take the piss within the first two lines.

i have seen

some excellent bands, and some OK ones, at the fleece. And no covers bands, though they do get a fair few. I saw ycni:m there, and Oceansize played there in September, just to give a couple of examples that might actually garner respect from people here...

The album is....

not very good at all, it's already out in the U.S and on Napster. I liked the first one in a 'I know I shouldn't like it' kind of way.

OK Go Support

and they are being supported by The Bright Space - a wonderful band in my humble opinions.
