Filter: Rich in Rehab, Tour off!

Blimey, dunno what's going on with so many bands cancelling gigs and splitting up but for Filter fans, it's bad news too...

Singer of the art-grungers Filter, Richard Patrick, has checked himself into a rehabilitation facility and all touring through the end of this year has been cancelled. There are no current plans to reschedule the cancelled shows.

Richard Patrick had this to say: "I want to apologise to all my friends and fans for having to cancel these upcoming shows, but right now I'm concerned about my health and want to get back into the best physical and mental condition to go back on the road next year."

All tickets will be refunded at point of purchase.

DiScuss: Anyone know what shit he was filling himself full of? Why do so-called stars need to escape? Do you think the mainstream media, with it's demand for a spectacle, hyping up and smashing down bands like some kinda god, have much to do with it? And more to the point, do drugs make music any better? Comment below..

    I went to school and grew up with Rich and havent been in touch for years. I feel bad for him and his family, I know them personally. I can only say that Rich has basically done the same as any other person would do in the lime light, they play the part! When you have money and stardum it draws outside influences that you are NOT looking for. Over time those habits take control and the only way to find help is by looking in a mirror. No one can do it for you, they can only support you and those who dont are only around you for their own personal needs... I hope Rich does what he needs and takes the time that is needed, he really is a good guy and comes from a great family.
