Will

someone please, finally, and for once, tell me what the fuck Les Savy Fav sound like? I like the name, and I want to know more. Please.

NO

Just buy some records.
You will not want to take them back.

But I keep

doing that. I own two shitting Bright Eyes albums that I'm never gonna listen to, and I don't need this to happen again! TELL ME YOU BASTARD!

which

Bright Eyes albums? Give them to me. Unless I already have them.

Is this tonight?

if so its right next to where we rehearse - we finish at 9.30 - oh dear!

I did on saturday

You forgot though, didn't you? Drunkard.

There's no way I can, I mean Homesick alien, can get to the pub for 6:30, he will probably go strait to t' garage.

Did you?

Erm...bugger. I love you though...

Sorry :(

I will

watch them at the weekend and give you a full report upon my return.

I can sympathise, I'm in the same boat. Apparently I'll "really like them" but as yet have not heard the proof.

They are good.

I might pop down if I finish work in time. Although not sure I can afford the £13 to get in.

£13?

My flatmate turned down free tickets for this because LOST is on tonight, hehe.

Your

flatmate has issues, serious issues...

Although The Bill is on tonight, so I'd have done the same thing.

The Bill?

hahaha

a man

who looked a LOT like Donnie Darko once told me I'd like them. I still haven't heard any yet though.

witht eh greatest respect....

are they a typical mike Driver band?

erm

'typical mike diver band'?

Mr Diver has an icredibly wide music taste.

Typical?

Nah, not really, if you consider me schooled in punk/hardcore.

Les Savy Fav bring the party, Marty.

And some.

I can't fuggin' wait.

They are, maybe, the best live band I've ever seen.

Well

they are one of my favourite bands ever too.

They were bashing out the whole dance punk thing way before bloc party and co came along. Plus they have a big fat hairy frontman.

JESUS

you Londoners make me fucking sick.

That sounds like an ace night.

BASTARDS!!

I can't listen

on computers! I'm at work, and I broke my home one! I'm in a dark world here.

Thanks Drives! I deffo see you as hardcore and not emo

but 13 quid - bah - anyway is they were on after 9.30 I'd probably come on down - get some tips for that beat combo I 'ply' 'my trade' in (OMD)

You

broke your home one? In a fit of rage or summin?

I would describe them for you bamos but up until this morning my ears had never clapped on to them. Perhaps an actual fan would like to do the honours?

GAH

They are the perfect party band: they've got the hip-slinkin' moves and they've got the punk-rockin', dance beat heavy tunes. Who rocks the party? THEY do, brother. Who knocked the apples from the trees? THEY did, sister, with skyscrapers of funked-up blunderbuss bombast. The Empire State needn't be made of ginger cake for them to have it crumbling to the floor... but you'll all have got a taste.

I have no idea what I'm writing...

From that description

the jukebox in my head is now thinking Q And Not U? The Rapture? Forward Russia? Anywhere near?!?

Nearish...

...but not quite. More Q and not U than the others, for sure. They can jerk with the best of 'em, but the lyrics are key. You have to see 'em, really.

They're rated 8/10 on here from 124 people... which is pretty fuggin good.

Diver

what time you getting there on Friday? Did you get a lift sorted?

I dunno how I'm going

Train prolly.
How about you?

Car

but already 5 in there so can't offer you lift, sorry. Give us a ring when you get in though and come party in our chalet.

Sweeeeet...

I shall do just THAT.
And then skin you on the crazy golf course.

Yes

Stabby guitar riffs, keyboards, disco beats. They are the best art/dance-punk band ever. FAQT

"best art/dance-punk band ever"

What he said ^^^
Truth.

Right LOLien

I think you've talked me into it. I'm gonna come down, 8.45 means it should be an early(ish) finish too.

Hopefully see you cats later.

OK, cool

heavier than Q And Not U then, or more guitar based? I like the sound of it I think, so what album should I take a punt on?

Cheers MD, appreciate this.

Inches

is the essential one really. Although all of them are good, and I don't just mean that in a fanboy way. They actually are.

I've got Inches.

it's good.

I'm well aware this may inspire a jokey response.

I'll give you Inches

etc

I'm listening now Bamos

hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

In your FACE!

Hmmmmmmmm, interesting sound.

Hmmm

no one going for weird war then?

Meh, I don't dislike them, I'm just indifferent.

They can jerk with the best of them

made me laugh like a child - I am silly arent i?

What's with all this

LOLing about?

erm

I'm just avoiding posting in my other account. See post count, innit.

Are you reaching

critical mass? Are you attempting to save it for something monumental? (i have no idea what your count is)

it is 5555

I shall return with a monumental post, or something. I haven't thought about this much...

I am actually getting

mega excited about this gig already.
I may do a little wee.
(PS: our water is back on. Mmmm, Thames Water tea.)

I am excited

but more concerned about missing the start of TAN(!).

bah, should be WW at the bottom of the bill.

Oh and Thunderbirds are now!

equal more insanely frantic dance punk fun, if you haven't heard them before.

I've heard

Wonderful People by Q and not U, and think it totally sucks. Is that typical of them? Will I therefore not like Les Savy Fav? I didn't like it because it sounds like Scissor Sisters.

Wonderful People

is great. But not necessarily typical, the older stuff was less disco-y. All of it is amazing though.

Wonerful People

Is not wholly representative of Q and not U: that's one of two songs that're kinda disco from their last album.

The first one, No Kill No Beep Beep, is fuggin brilliant.

OK

I'll give them another chance then...

nah

That's not a great album to be honest.

Les Savy Fav are a lot more punk I guess, but not RAAAH punk, erm, they are quite hard to describe.

But yeah, if you don't like Q and not U, that doesn't mean you won't like LSF. Come! it will be ace. honest!

I meant song

not album.

so after the dissection

of Les Savy Fav - is anyone actually going??

I'm

going to wait and see them over the weekend instead :)

YESYESYES

Well I am going, hence that first post.
As is Colin Roberts Esq and my girlfriend.
And 300-odd others.

Is this a good time to say I *might* have a spare ticket...??

He would like to

She has new hair and is now an über-vixen.

ace

how many spare tickets do you have for tonight Mr D?

If I do then

just one, single.

c'est combien

on the door?

I dunno about on the doors

but in advance was £13 face value with a couple o quid booking fee.

Probably around £15 on the door.

Is it today?

Then no. I am Still Ill. I'm in my nightclothes and glasses, sniffling and aching. Poor me.

Poor squirrel

Get better for the weekend!

I'll be sorted by the weekend

definitely. With the help of some sympathy PMs, and someone to make me weak lemon drinks, that kind of thing...

SPARE TICKET

I do indeed have a spare ticket for tonight's grrreat show.

It's cos it was for a mate, who cannae come, but I'm on the list, so blah blah blah... basically I'm nay asking for much.

A couple o' beers for a £13 face-value ticket?

Takers...??

I'd be up for that.

What time are you heading into the gig? It depends what time I can finish work.

Shall be in the Bailey from 6.30

And will be in the venue from 8.

'm bloody ill as well

and I'm grafting every night this week as well as being here all day - grrr

Why are we

all ill at the moment!
I'm full of cold and got a nasty cough!

Jealous!

So jealous! Why oh why did I ever leave London...?

has it gone yet mike?

Id be very grateful etc etc...beer n ting.

So like yo...

First person to PM me can 'ave it away, so long as they are not MENTAL.

it's totally

gone.
WHOOSH.

Bugger.

That ralphcore is quick.

sorry pal

CHEERS MIKE!! was going to go anyway but i was put off by the £13 ticket prices > £13 worth of beer for Mike seems less harsh tho. I'll txt you in a bit Mike. shower>

Argrgrgghgh

I wish I sat in front of a PC all day and had seen this free ticket malarkey. *curses*
