His guitar work is really minimalist and nice and his voice is pretty good. He's better than most but not mind explodingly amazing. I bought it after I heard him do an XFM session and kinda like it but never really listen to it much.
have his album and although I haven't listened to it a great deal I do like it. I saw him play once in London and he sat on a small stool on stage so that hardly anyone could see him...
his cover of "love will tear us apart" is very good. in fact when i heard "heartbeats" for the first time i thought it sounded like a joy division acoustic track.
Yeah he's 'pretty good' at the mo, but as soon as you see him on TV (any time soon since he's on an advert) he'll be placed with Fretwell/Gray/Rice stakes as rubbish mainstream. Naturally.
its him playing on the sony bravia ad, heartbeats, song originally by the knife, just lovely, he's also in a band called junip who make marvellous music. i would definitely recommend the album veneer.
I did see him twice this year, first when he supported Arcade Fire at the ULU in March and then a month later supporting Juana Molina at the Queen Elizabeth Hall.
'tis ok

He
also did a cover of Kylie's Hand on your Heart live which was really good.
I think I went to that gig
was it at 93 feet east? He covered Massive Attack's Tear Drop which I liked alot.
Yes,
it was the 93 Feet East one. I enoyed it as much as anyone could without being able to see a thing.
balls to yer subject line

i prefer
his solo piano stuff.
at least more people get to hear the Knife's song now the cover is on the ad and all.
i've also heard
him covering a track by The Knife, and it's a wonder i didn't melt into a quivering puddle of blissed ectoplasm.

from Gorilla vs Bear's blog.
I think he's great.

Isn't one of his songs in the sony Bravia TV ad?

Did anyone
see the gig at Bush Hall earlier this year?
No, but
I did see him twice this year, first when he supported Arcade Fire at the ULU in March and then a month later supporting Juana Molina at the Queen Elizabeth Hall.
