and thus is a cog in the capitalist economy the flavour of which is not in humans favour, but rather self serving of investment returns, along the way not providing what people really need but what they are encouraged to want byt a rather vacuuous advertising industry.......unfortunately his argument falls down in that he is also a cog, albeit if unemployed a cog that is disengaged and not oing round, hoowever he is like me ineffective at realigning the course of the human worlds 'progress and s....I too am a cog, a corporate drone....I wanted to be an activist but I do not have the abilities/resources, I could have planned from when I was young, but I didnt cos I had other emotional needs at the time (none involved materialism) however Idid not have the foresight to get myself into a position to turn things round....why because I am human......most humans are caught up and enthralled and entrapped byt the consumerist society because there is no escape, it will not allow you to be independant of it, it will use force if necessary......the only way to escape it is to attain so much of its rewards (money) that it will allow you to live in a bubble created by the wealth.....it will not allow you to live a good clean life unencumbered by plastic, regulation burocracy.
John Traynor you are indeed right in this respect that SCL is right wing, but then again so am i so are we all so are You COMRADE, where is your revolution huh? every minute you sit in your comfy chair listening to a plastic recording device manufactured in a capitalist factory with your 'fancy' headphones rather than working towards human liberation from the system that oppresses us makes you complicit.....as indeed am i, as indeed are most people........because we are human, the system is used to handling us and our facets.....we are not evil.....(you may counter that your luxories are small and low maintainance ....music/live gigs...people doing things not possessions......but that is waht is so wierd......why do you hate SCL so she is also heavily involved in enabling 'live' performance/events....less consumerist entertainment than say sitting in watching sky movies....................and another thing....to someone without enough food/clean water or fearing for their lives every day, your small footprint entertainment of music would sem like a totally superflous luxory.
