At Stay Beautiful's clubnight. I'm not really a novelty, fun band kind of person, so I'd say save your money for something worthwhile. Unless you love choreographed dancing polka dots.

I have read a few live reviews of them that said they seemed a bit 'disinterested' and aloof. Maybe i just saw them on a good night. But i'd still say take a chance on seeing them.

2006 is shaping up well. It's 1 Jan and the haters are already out on the DiS board. Doesn't bode well for a site that aims to support new music/bands.
you can't
support ALL new music/bands, for the same reason you can't support ALL established music/bands. Just because it's new doesn't mean it necessarily should be supported.

There's the new "Ironic Cultural Referencing" bands that are gonna be pushed like nothing by record labels after the Arctic Monkeys' success. Bands like Milburn, Bromheads Jacket, Larrikin Love etc.
Then there's just this influx of this shite art rock with all it's jangly guitars like Kubichek, The Long Blondes.
There's no originality that's all. I want a bloody Pixies! : D

Awful, soulless, joyless, contrived drivel. They so desperately want to be 'fun pop' and technically they have all the right elements to be that, but it's totally missing something. It's trying too hard.
