Before I fell off the face of the internet, I bought my first DCFC album... Now I have four (Plans, The Photo Album, We Have the Facts and Transatlanticism), and I really really like them all. I don't really get why Plans has been panned, I like it. The Photo Albums is definitely my favourite though. To summarise, I now like Death Cab a lot, can't wait to see 'em in March.
Plans is great.
:D
I think
Plans is great too, think that the main reason it's been criticised is because of their sudden popularity and links to certain crap teen TV programmes. For me, it's a decent progression from Photo Album and Transatlanticism.
I don't
actually own any of the albums, but I quite like em, and also cant wait to see them in March.
nope.
I just think it's a bit wet. other from marching bands of manhattan and soul meets body it is just a wasted effort to try and like it. shame becasue the two good tracks are SOOOO bloomin amazing
Blergh.
The first track is crap I think, but after Crooked Teeth is where the most quality shows.
I think Different Names sounds all Lennon-esq. Your Heart... sounds like a very good Coldplay song, and Brothers on a Hotel Bed has the best 'hook' of the year. Its one of my favourite songs of ever.
Sorry
its not fucking crap.
Its good, but not that good.
their dvd
is still totally rubbish.
derby county football club
I agree the photo album is the best!
dvd
i agree, it's so boring and makes ben gibvbard look like an indie geek. i'm sure he's an alright bloke. when i met him briefly he seemed like a geezer.
up there^^^
just because they were on the OC i dont think that damaged their indie cred, the walkmen and modest mouse were both on the OC and didnt suffer so im guessing its cos the music went shit.
Oh See..
They did get a lot more references in the OC than anyone else, and were more associated with it. But I think it's more a symptom of the big following they got in the states on the back of being a Postal Service sideproject.
They got known football players and popular kids at high school. It was always gonna lead to a backlash. If you hear a band like that everywhere you're bound to get a little bored of them.
They're just like an American Snow Patrol really.
The DVD proves one thing...
Ben Gibbard is Nick Harmer's personal god.
I love the DVD
it's really beautiful to look at.
