Re: The Mars Volta
best album of the year
one of the best of all time, actually
Re: The Mars Volta
they are wicked good...i love the singer's voice
good experimental shit
Re: The Mars Volta
They are fucking amazing
Omar is the man
setting the standard
Re: The Mars Volta
One of the best albums of all time? That? Are you kidding?
R.E.M. - Automatic for the People
Jimi Hendrix - Are you Experienced?
Nirvana - Bleach
The Beatles - All that crap everybody loves that I hate.
It really compares to all those right? Of course it doesn't. It's in another dimension of mediocrity.
Re: The Mars Volta
yes
Re: The Mars Volta
i love Nirvana, i was obsessed with then when i was 15 but u cant tell me Bleach is one of the best albums of all time, admit it, you just said that to look cool.
Re: The Mars Volta
Well I was going to say Nevermind, but I like Bleach a hell of a lot more.
My favourite Nirvana album to listen to right now is Bleach.
Re: The Mars Volta
i wouldn't say it's one of the best albums of all time but it is probably one of the best this year. I cant wait to hear them at reading.
Re: The Mars Volta
They suck and you know it MOLEMAN. And READING SUCKS TOO.
Re: The Mars Volta
How the fuck can you say they suck? And saying Reading sucks as well when its probably the best festival in England is there something wrong wit you?
Re: The Mars Volta
It's not the best festival in england.
It's an absolutely terrible festival.
Thousands of irritating little teenagers and make-up-goths-with-scar-covered-arms-"oh let the world see my scratched arms and pitty me".
Sponsored by an all-encompassing-even-multi-global-mega-brand such as Carling who consistently take our public space and have their targets set on music.
Watching hundreds of terrible-bands-who-are-basically-pop-but-think-they-have-integrity-in-rock-and-are-fooling-all-the-kids.
It's the most stale sign on Earth that the human race is decending into mass-consurism-no-choice-identikit-rent-a-identity.
Re: The Mars Volta
mars volta: basically pop
ok
a) who isnt basically pop?
b) whats a better festival (id guess truck, which is a great weekend, but theres hardly bands to wet yourself over)
Re: The Mars Volta
Well Mars Volta are an exception. There are a few bands that are playing that while they have some artistic integrity, still sound terrible (i.e. Mars Volta).
Glastonbury seemed better. No evil mass sponsor as far I'm aware (probably a less evil one). And Stuart Braithwaite bashed the stage with his guitar.
Re: The Mars Volta
same organisation
less hard rock
Re: The Mars Volta
Carling do glastonbury too?
Sigur Ros, R.E.M. and Mogwai. That's three good bands that played there. I can't think of one good band playing at Reading.
Re: The Mars Volta
mean fiddler.
squarepusher
system of a down
hope of the states
radio 4
the rapture
f4af.
mogwai played a few years ag0 -headlined the second stage. awesome. i think sigur ros have played too
Re: The Mars Volta
I got the f4af album for free and it was terrible.
System of a Down are talented, but repetitive in a very radio friendly kind of way.
