Witnessing a band evolve and begin to harness their potential can be a wonderful and satisfying experience. Having seen Resin play several times, I have revelled in their steady improvement and refinement of their art. Their song writing has become more direct and focused and their performance more efficient and honest. The signature Will Haven-esq heavy riffage and solid driving rhythms remain, but the dynamics are improved and the song structure is more direct. Singer Gareth's angst is thoroughly convincing, pouring every ounce of himself into his impassioned performance.
Tonight's show was testament to years spent sweating in a Southend rehearsal room and playing the UK's toilet circuit. With songs this good and a set this tight, how long can the hard rock fraternity afford to ignore Resin.
