And you thought he'd gone away. Mr 'Hey Baby' teams up with equally heinous europop felons, the Hermes House Band (remember, 'Country Roads'?) to bring the office party a slice of uplifting inanely grinning cheese. A cover of the Opus classic it's got a bontempi beat and a eurovision sheen of positivity. However, unlike Otzi's signiature tune, instead of making the song a hit on the football terraces then releasing it, 'Live Is Life' incorporates base level football chanting by breaking down in the middle for an unholy rendition of 'here we go her we go go here we go'. Not pretty.

Originally scheduled for release in October it was no doubt put back when it became obvious Las Ketchup were going to provide the post-Benidorm holiday hit. Finding itself now up against The Cheeky Girls (and Las Ketchup for that matter, still clinging to the top ten) it seems more than a little redundant.

DJ Otzi - Live Is Life

what the fuck is this shit all about????????????????? anyone got a clue??? i just wasted 5 minutes trying to understand what the fuck this is meant to mean.. dis, you've lost it!

Re: DJ Otzi - Live Is Life

Erm, it means it isn't any good? Pull your head out your arse and look at the top 40 from time to time to find out what 99.9% of the population is listening to. You might understand the context then.

Re: DJ Otzi - Live Is Life

yeah, but i can read about that elsewhere.

your arguement is so flawed mister flame, it's like claiming 99.9% of the population went along with hitler and that it was a good thing. 99.9% of people are stupid fucks anyway.

that type of shit isn't why i come hear. get rid of it editors. now.

Re: DJ Otzi - Live Is Life

As far as i'm aware no-one forced you to read this review, don't you agree with freedom of choice?

Incidently I am an Editor for DiS. I'm POP and indie Editor. I'm open minded, you're not.

However, this record is shit so I said so.

Re: DJ Otzi - Live Is Life

y tell people about a shit record? seems about as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike.

i thought dis wuz about alternative music? if i wanted to read about that i'd stral a copy of totp.

why does POP have to mean shit nowadays? just cus it's a track that sounds like Scooter or features on an advert, why the fuck is it pop? it's not as if it's popular in the loved and means something to a lot of people sense.

p.s. ur a faggit!

Re: DJ Otzi - Live Is Life

>y tell people about a shit record?

No, I'm telling people about a record I don't like. I think it's pretty shit but someone out there might be interested to know DJ Otzi has a record out. Especially as it hasn't been particularly well publicised elsewhere.

>i thought dis wuz about alternative music?

No, DiS is merely staffed by a lot of people who like "alternative" music. That doesn't stop it reviewing everything from Las Ketchup to Shy FX & T Power. DiS isn't about ring fencing "good music" away from everything else. It's about informed quality writing and opinions. It doesn't assume people are narrow minded enough to only enjoy one genre.

>why does POP have to mean shit nowadays

It doesn't, hence why some pop records reviewed on DiS get good reviews and others don't. That's the whole point of writing a review.

>p.s. ur a faggit!

Hey, i'm not the one called "Lord Gay". Come out publicly and i'm sure all your repressed hatred of anything that might be seen as camp will be dissipated.

Re: DJ Otzi - Live Is Life

it means that dis is a music based website...and tragically dj otiz is classed as music...

Re: DJ Otzi - Live Is Life

why not write about a tramp playing spoons or african tribal music then, that's music too. more freely available than mp3s too.

p.s. i love smellavision!

Re: DJ Otzi - Live Is Life

i'm sure if DiS had a "street performer" enthusiast or African tribal music fan they would be reviewed.

break down the walls!!!

Re: DJ Otzi - Live Is Life

mr gay i think you are jealous of mr otiz!
