Artists: Rilo Kiley

Jenny Lewis is to tour the UK to support her forthcoming solo record, Rabbit Fur Coat, next month.

The Rilo Kiley singer, who performs on the record alongside The Watson Twins, is to play more intimate venues than the ones Rilo Kiley can now fill. The shows feature a full band, and a larger UK tour will follow in the year.

February
8 Birmingham Glee Club
9 London Bush Hall
11 Manchester Hop & Grape/Academy 3
12 Glasgow Mono Club

Rabbit Fur Coat is released on January 23rd and features contributions from Conor Oberst and Ben Gibbard.

Yay!

But the solo record is kinda average. :(

i'd say

below average

That

Would be entrirely fair.

Entrirely?

And I cant understand why they always use that press photo. Makes her look like a mentalist.

Mentalist?

*wibble*

Gordon Bennett...

As if Rilo Kiley's music wasn't bad enough, now this. Both are painfully average and inexplicably popular. Not as bad as Death Cab, but not far off...

You typical

male! Bugger off they are great!

and...

she's got quite hairy arms.

am I...

the only person that thinks its quite a good album? certainly the best new album I've heard this year

Bush Hall

The venue know nothing about this gig at the moment. Just emailed them because I couldn't find ticket details for her London show anywhere....

Jenny Lewis

has to be my number one all-time ideal date.

I gotta go!

Yey!

I'm well happy bout this... the cheeky kitten may (probably wont) play some RK songs. i haven't got the album ye... thought i'd buy it seein as its on an indie label... anyone know if its indie distribution>?

label

it's on rough trade i believe...

Has

anyone heard her song with Ben Gibbard and Conor Oberst?

Its reeeeeeeeeeally twee, and BG's part is a bit gay, but I like it, somehow.

Which song is it

on the record?

From what I've heard, I think it's a really good album. But then I like(d) Rilo Kiley so that may be why.

its track no.9...

and its called 'Handle with Care', I'm pretty sure that its a cover of a Travelling Wilbury's song. Best song on the album I reckon, pity she won't be have Conor and Ben to sing it with her on tour

It's...

...not as good as the original.

The Album...

...Got 5/5 in Uncut...Never bought a Rilo L.P but was really impressed when they supported Bright Eyes on the last U.K tour...Was considering getting this...

Hmmm...

I do agree with Crablin that the albjum is below average. Although I have listened to it quite a few times, so I might change my mind like I did about Aberfeldy's album. (I initially said it was rubbish but was still listening regularly 6 months later).

I'd definitely say you'd be better buying any Rilo Kiley album than this. (or, indeed, the guitarist in Rilo Kiley's other band's new record - The Elected's - which, I believe, comes out on the same day and is much better).

RK

The Execution of All things is a better constructed Rilo Kiley album to purchnase than More Adventurous but it was an attempt to break the mainstream..

London Gig

Does anyone know what's going on with this gig? It's not listed on the Bush Hall site and none of the ticket agencies know anything about it either...

london gig

is at the spitz. You can get tickets on seetickets.com
