Matt and Kim

are rather lovely.

:D

matt and kim are the ACEST.

Are

Clogs any good? They are supporting The Books on tour.

clogs

are definitely good. Improv classical stuff, a lot of focus on like varying tones of bowing and plucking strings. Maybe what druids would play at their dinnerparties?

robyn

is ACE. i don't understand how she isn't more famous over here. i really like her new single. she did a few dodgy things in the mid-90s, but otherwise did great europop. yay.

and

it STILL hasn't had a UK release. GRRRRRR.

ever seen 'show me love'

the film by lukas moodysson?

i saw it for the first time last week and it features the song 'show me love' by robyn.

i didn't let on to any of my friends that i remembered when the song was released and secretly like it.

yeah

show me love made her MEGA HUGE SUPER FAMOUS in america. sort of.
i only like her because she has the same name as me and isn't a transvestite (i hope).

are transvestites

usually called robyn?

yes. i'm not though. obviously.

when ever you see transvestites on jerry springer they're ALWAYS called robyn.

lately

Isolee - Wearemonster - it's such a grower

Kites - Peace Trials (Load Records, noise)

Ricardo Villalobos - Achso (Cadenza, minimal techno)

Anything by Quiet Village Project on Whatever We Want Records (soulful downtempo, extreeeeeeemely hard to find & expensive and stuff)

Arthur Russell - World of Echo (this is a record everyone should own)

anything Royal Trux

Kontrast 12" on Kompakt (techno - nice and slooooow though)

Can

UFO Or Die bits and pieces - Eye & Yoshimi before the Boredoms

Lindstrom - "Monsteer" 12", with a Riton song on the b-side that i haven't even bothered to hear yet as the a side is so good

"New York Noise 2" just out on Soul Jazz

Anything by My Bloody Valentine & Josef K - mmm indiepop

Dinosaur - "Kiss Me Again" - the perfect song? An old disco record involving Arthur Russell and Nicky Siano

the new Liars LP
and
the new Psychic Ills LP out on The Social Registry next month

oh, and i forgot

Burning Star Core - "The Very Heart of the World" LP - sort of folky drone music, bit mystical sounding, and absolutely fantastic

I'm just download that BSC one now. I really want to hear it.

Lots of jazz at the moment

Eric Dolphy - "Out to Lunch"
Miles - "On the Corner"
Build an Ark - "Peace with Every Step"

Plus I seem to be listening to loads of Debussy.

Besides that I have been revisiting XTC's "Oranges and Lemons" and Boards' "Music Has the Right to Children". Mmm-hmm.

chaucer is ace

he's like a 14th century pervert.
