Artists: The Research

Yorkshire glum-poppers The Research celebrate the release of their quite splendidly sombre, albeit in a top-poppin' way, debut album Breaking Up with a series of small shows in London and Leeds.

The band will play at London's Old Blue Last on 28th February and 1st March (tickets from 0870 907 0999) and Leeds' Brudenell Social Club on March 3rd (0870 060 0100). Featuring alongside their own live set will be a slew of guest DJs, including the likes of The Pipettes, Maximo Park and British Sea Power, and Absentee (28th) and Mother and The Addicts (3rd) playing LIVE.

The album is preceded by a single, 'Lonely Hearts Still Beat The Same', on February 13th. Singer Russell 'The Disaster' said of the shows:

"This is going to be the best week for us because during our time touring, our favourite bands have become our favourite friends and they are all coming to help us party for our first long-playing record."

Brudenell

You can tickets (now on-line from Jumbo records), although their mark-up to £7 is extortionate, given that the ticket should cost £5.50....
