decent music website, that praised music for being musically enjoyable, rather than basing reviews on coolness.
Check out the reviews around 2002 / 2003 etc. They're much better than they are now.

Well the way I heard it is
Sean did a fanzine. That turned into a very well designed website that had a popular forum and a good band database/ rating system, meaning it had a high level of interactivity that kept people coming back, unlike other websites which are just mainly reviews. Then it split off into the label and multi-meeja mini-empire that it is today.
Except more gradual and with lots of hard work.
