The first solo offering from Erlend Oye, one half of Norwegian folksters Kings Of Convenience throws up many troubling questions.

Namely, is this not actually a KoC track in all but name? And more pertinently, what quite is the purpose of this exercise? Its certainly not to bring new, enthralling music to the masses. Indeed, its a very gentle, languid, lamentive strum backed with some inoffensive bass, chimes and synths, but hardly a step out of previous territories. If you were being harsh you would dismiss this as a particularly lazy remix of a KoC track. Then you remember that they've already released a remix album, purporting to a further question of; what exactly is this?

"Why did you come at all?" sighs Erlend. That, my friend, is another question I can't answer.

Erlend Oye - Sudden Rush

So it only gets two and a half because it's, by your definition, not original?!
That's ridiculous. It's a great song, that's all that matters.

Re: Erlend Oye - Sudden Rush

Sorry, forgot to mention that its quite dull and I still can't remember how it goes... but I thought that would be too negative a review...
