i have assured grasp on the history of emo from rites of spring through to falloutboy. the guitar textures on the track that was on some rockspund sampler were emo.
silly haircuts. 15 year old kids that all look identical and have no understanding of this music and where it comes from. They only like a band cause it's scene (see Aiden) and what makes the band 'scene' is their makeup! However, you will no doubt enjoy playing a good round of 'is-it-a-boy-is-it-a-girl. C'mon Raz you know what I'm talking about! saying all this though I have confessed my love for Armor For Sleep to you.
They're music is rubbish. They have the worst song titles in the world,(eg 'Homesick At Space Camp' and 'Sending Postcards From A Plane Crash (Wish You Were Here)' and are renound for the inaudible lyrics as you can see from the link above.
I'm really starting to get confused with the whole Emo thing now. I disappear to Afghanistan for 6 months of Hindi-pop overdose, and when I come back there's this sub-genre named after a character from Sesame Street.
Once I realised it wasn't 'Elmo', I see it used to refer to bands that I would've called pop-punk, and suddenly bands I would've called Hardcore are called Screamo. WTF? In mah yoof we called Black Flag, Pro - Pane, Sick of it All, early Beastie Boys, Madball etc hardcore. The preserve of big men with shaved heads and tattoos in white vests and chinos. I walked past the queue for Bleeding Through at the Zodiac last night, and they were all kids of the 'is-it-a-boy-or-a-girl' ilk, the common Adolscentus Emoticus. Not a big man in a white vest to be seen.
Maybe it's my age, but it all sounds the same to me!
elliott are my favourites :) I love them soooo much. I wish I'd seen them live. Absolutely not enough people know about them. I dont understand if Elliot are emo, that Fallout Boy can also be emo.
Ghost Ship Demos are really good possibly better than their more resent stuff. I think they have to be careful not to release over produced albums and also I hope they can retain some of the spontaneity which made them so so in the first place.
There is an 'emo' influence in some of the vocal parts but I dont thing its particularly offensive.
their ghostship demos/new stuff they've played live shows how exciting they're going to be. The album was a bit disapointing with the overproduction and taming down of some songs, but its fucking solid for the most part.
Excellent band, very talented musicians. The next record they do will be really exciting, I'm sure.
i like
Fall Of Troy! But I laught loudly in the face of Fallout Boy and all that they stand for.
theyre both

fallout boy are more pop punk that emo kids listen too. I'm baffled by catagories. I'd call Elliott Emo though so what do i know
What have they got
against Johnny Truant then?
hahaha
it's about the book that Johnny Truant got their name from. apparently.
I'd call Elliott
emo too. Because they were.
